Learning Lab
Welcome to the WhatAPI Learning Lab. Here you'll find best practices for managing campaigns and training support agents.
1. Bulk Messaging Campaigns
Bulk messaging lets you send WhatsApp broadcasts to custom customer segments using Excel or CSV spreadsheets.
Spreadsheet Formatting Guidelines
To ensure smooth parsing:
- Save your contacts file in `.xlsx` or `.csv` format.
- The file must contain a column named **Phone** (or **Phone Number**).
- Ensure numbers contain the country code and no special characters (e.g. `923001234567` instead of `+92-300-1234567`).
- You can include custom columns like **Name**, **OrderNumber**, or **DiscountCode** to use as variables in your broadcast message text.
Preventing Number Flags (Cool-Down Delays)
WhatsApp monitors message velocity. To prevent your number from being flagged or banned:
- Set Delay Intervals: In the campaign builder, configure a random delay (e.g. 10 to 30 seconds) between each message.
- Warm Up New Numbers: If you are using a new number, start with small lists (50-100 messages/day) and increase volume gradually.
- Opt-In Lists: Only broadcast to users who expect messages from your store.
2. Interactive Auto-Replies
Learn how to configure keyword-triggered auto-replies on the **Automations** tab:
- Keywords: Define matching phrases (e.g., `"help"`, `"pricing"`, `"refund"`).
- Replies: Draft immediate responses. You can list your product catalogs or trigger coupon codes.
- Quota: You can save up to **20 auto-replies** per WhatsApp session.
